It sounds so simple.  Everyone is saying it “Eat more Healthy Foods” or “Eat a Plant-based diet”.  But what does it mean to eat healthy meals?  Does it simply mean to toss a couple of leaves of salad on your plate at meal time and you have achieved that goal? Or, does it mean that you have to reduce all alcoholic drinks?  There are so many questions and so many answers.  Our advice is to do what is best for you.  It all depends on what you can afford.  The main supermarkets stock Plant-based meals ready to go, have you seen the prices their vegan meals? The initiative is to eat healthy and not to wear holes in your pocket from the cost of the meals!!

Buy a Planner to plan your vegan meals.  You could start with having just one vegan meal per week.  And as your budget dictates then commit to two meals etc. If you have green fingers then you can “Grow your Own.” In that way you can save money.  If this is not an option source some of your vegan food from local producers grown seasonally.

Below are 3 simple steps to start your epic journey of Healthy Eating.

  • Step 1 Create a Meal Planner- select your favourite Vegan Plant-based meals and write down the days that you intend on eating them.
  • Step 2 Eat your 5 portions of fruits and vegetables daily.  Remember to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables.  Try to eat different coloured food on your plate and not the same foods every day.
  • Step 3 Purchase locally grown produce.  Some allotment growers are willing to sell their produce to you.
